My Review of MUGO in Tirana
Nestled in the heart of Tirana, MUGO offers a delightful brunch experience that is both inviting and refreshing. I visited MUGO around 8 or 9 a.m., eager to explore their brunch offerings. The ambiance immediately caught my attention; the space is adorned with lush botanical elements, creating a serene and refreshing atmosphere that sets the tone for a pleasant dining experience.

The Atmosphere
The cafe is connected to Mulliri Gourmet, a well-known coffee shop chain in Albania. This connection allows patrons to enjoy a variety of specialty coffees alongside their brunch. The decor, with its botanical theme, adds a touch of nature to the urban setting, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing morning meal.
The Menu
MUGO’s brunch menu (as pictured above) is diverse, offering a range of options from traditional omelets to more elaborate dishes like Eggs Benedict and Croque Madame. The menu is divided into several sections, including Brunch, Sweets, Espresso & Coffee, Detox Juice, and Smoothies.
My Omlette and Yogurt
For my brunch, I opted for the Traditional Omelette and a serving of yogurt with walnuts. I requested the omelet without bread, as I am trying to avoid it. The service was fairly quick, and my order arrived promptly.

Traditional Omelette (500 ALL): The omelet was simple, featuring eggs, tomatoes, olives, peppers, and parsley. While it was a tasty dish, I felt myself thinking back to the incredible omelette I had at Lift, with brie and greens.

Yogurt with Walnuts (260 ALL): The yogurt was a lovely large portion and quite enjoyable. It was a straightforward and fresh dish, the quality was good, and it made for a satisfying and healthy start to the day. I appreciated the simplicity and the generous serving size. I plan to order it often in the future.
Specialty Coffee and Other Beverages
One of the highlights of MUGO Tirana is the availability of specialty coffees from Mulliri Gourmet.

The back of the brunch menu includes a variety of single-origin coffees, such as Colombian rum fermented, Jamaican Blue Mountain, and Indonesian Kopi Luwak. This is a significant perk for coffee enthusiasts, as it allows them to pair their brunch with high-quality coffee. In addition to coffee, MUGO offers a selection of detox juices and smoothies. The detox juices, starting at 380 ALL, include combinations like Kiwi + Green Apple & Ginger, Beet + Green Apple, Orange, Lemon, and Orange + Carrot. The smoothies, priced at 500 Lek, come in flavors like Raspberry, Strawberry, Blackberry, and Kiwi.
Previous Experiences
I have visited MUGO before and tried their Eggs Benedict (700 ALL) last year and it was great, I’ve always pictured Mugo as the perfect place to grab a special brunch with specialty coffee with friends. It’s a great special occasion place, due to the excellent ambiance, the quality of their coffee and elegant dishes.
Final Thoughts
Overall, my experience at MUGO was pleasant. The atmosphere is one of the cafe’s strongest points, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. The yogurt with walnuts was a highlight, and the specialty coffee options are a significant draw. I would recommend MUGO for its ambiance and coffee, and I plan to return to try more of their simpler dishes and beverages. For those looking for a relaxing brunch spot in Tirana with a touch of nature and excellent coffee, MUGO is worth a visit.
