Morsi Tirana Menu and Review – Sandwiches with a Twist

Incredible Eggs, a dozen or more sandwich options, and a perfect location.

I stopped by Morsi before heading to Antigua on a sunny Saturday morning and had a great time. I tried their Salad and breakfast platter, this is a quick review of it. But, if you’re after the menu, here’s all the pictures I could get:

Onto the review! Morsi in Tirana is a charming restaurant located in the bustling area of Blloku in Albania. With its inviting ambiance and prime location, it’s a popular spot for tourists and people visiting Blloku. The restaurant offers a diverse menu featuring international deli-style cuisine, as well as some breakfast options that I tried – ensuring there’s something for everyone.

Ambiance and Location

One of the standout features of Morsi Tirana is its welcoming atmosphere. The friendly staff, who are fluent in English, went above and beyond to ensure I had a pleasant dining experience. The restaurant’s interior is tastefully decorated, creating a cozy and comfortable setting. For those who prefer outdoor seating, Morsi Tirana has you covered. (They have around 20 seats outdoors, and 10-15 inside.) However, it’s worth noting that the outdoor seating area is situated close to the road, which can be a bit noisy at times due to passing traffic. Additionally, there are dumpsters located nearby, which may occasionally cause unpleasant odors. Despite these minor drawbacks, dining al fresco at Morsi Tirana is still an enjoyable experience, allowing you to soak in the vibrant energy of the city. It’s perfect for a date or group outing to people watch on the streets of Blloku.

Food and Service Quality

Morsi Tirana takes pride in offering a wide range of delectable dishes. The breakfast plate, in particular, is a standout. It features perfectly fried eggs with a distinct and fresh taste, accompanied by bread and cheese. The combination of flavors and textures makes for a truly satisfying meal. The server was also very accommodating to dietary preferences. For example, they were happy to substitute pork ham with turkey on my request, ensuring that I was able to enjoy my meal without compromise. While the Caesar salad is tasty, it could benefit from a few tweaks. The portion size felt a bit on the smaller side, and the dressing could be more generous. But, it was light and felt fresh, and I enjoyed it, and this could have been my fault as I requested no croutons. (As I’m sadly taking a small break from bread.)

Pricing

The prices at Morsi Tirana are in line with other restaurants in the area. While the Caesar salad may seem slightly overpriced for its portion size, the overall value for money is reasonable, considering the quality of the food, location, and the pleasant dining experience. Restaurants in the Blloku area generally pay higher rent, so may need to charge more for food and materials. The breakfast platter is an absolute gem at this price point (500 lek for eggs, ham, and excellent cheese), and I plan to return just for it.

Additionally, the sandwiches all clock in around 350-750 Lek, for example:

  • Delizzia (380 Lek): This hearty sandwich comes with a baguette stuffed with prosciutto, grill deli meats, iceberg lettuce, tomato, and mozzarella flor di latte.
  • Vespa (450 Lek): A meat lover’s delight, the Vespa includes a baguette with salami milano, mortadella, spicy provolone (djable provalone), and iceberg salad.
  • Testarossa (450 Lek): The Testarossa features a baguette with salami campiano, burpuha (a type of meat), spicy brie (djable brie), iceberg salad, and mayonnaise.
  • Vegetarian (350 Lek): A light and fresh option, the Vegetarian panini consists of a baguette with iceberg salad, prime di picura (a type of cheese), arugula, and spicy provolone.
  • Salmon Delight (650 Lek): A more premium option, this sandwich includes a baguette with salmon, tyrone (possibly a type of cheese or sauce), avocado, arugula (rucola), iceberg lettuce, pesto, and mayonnaise.

The ingredients in these sandwiches range from various types of meats like prosciutto cotto and crudo, salami milano, and mortadella, to different cheeses such as mozzarella flor di latte, spicy provolone, and brie. Fresh vegetables like tomato, iceberg lettuce, and arugula add a crisp texture and refreshing taste, while spreads like pesto and mayonnaise enhance the flavors.

Conclusion

Morsi Tirana is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Tirana. With its inviting ambiance, friendly service, and delicious food, it’s no wonder why it’s a favorite. Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty breakfast or a tasty meal any time of day, Morsi is definitely worth a visit. After you finish a nearby Specialty Coffee at Antigua or orange juice at Hana Corner cafe, it’s easy to walk over to Morsi and enjoy a sandwich, as I hope to one day when I can eat bread again.
